Cy Vance, the District Attorney of Manhattan is a recognized leader in criminal justice reform and wished to build an online footprint that reflected the vision and thought behind his campaigns and initiatives, and that was dynamic to use and update. The Manhattan DA office website would be a critical method of communicating with the wide stakeholders of the New York County and beyond.
The primary objective of recreating the website was to build an essential and up to date resource for the various stakeholders and partners of the DA office. This translated to a need to independently organize and publish various content, including press releases, articles, images and videos, in multiple languages, including Spanish and Chinese, on a regular basis.
In view of these unique requirements, Icreon selected Drupal to build a customized CMS driven website that would provide a one-stop-shop information portal on the New York County, enabling this relevant news to be shared independently by the team at the DA office. The website allows the DA office staff to easily administer and mobilize huge amounts of data including:
Another key functionality integrated in the website is that it is multilingual. Available in English, Spanish and Chinese, the website users can easily browse through the repository for news, events, PR, videos, etc. in a language that they are more familiar with enabling an inclusive experience for all.
Also, in view of the changing digital landscape, the website developed was made compatible with the iPad to enable people to connect with the office easily, anytime, anywhere! Further, to leverage the phenomena of social media, the website was interlinked with various social media networks – Facebook, Twitter and YouTube – where DA office Manhattan is socially active, enabling dialogue in the community.
With the successful delivery of the website, the Icreon team provided the DA Office with not only a dynamic website that can easily be updated and managed by the staff themselves; but an online personality that stands true to their vision.
