A New York based entrepreneur offers an online service with a difference - a platform where people from different walks of life with similar interests can communicate, share and learn activities across various categories and take on the role of both teacher and learner.
The existing website had several issues, including errors in the programming code, which hampered its performance. The entrepreneur wanted to revamp the website and build value added features into it.
Solution:
Revamping an online community for activity sharing.
Icreon understood that for users the performance and features of the site are a priority. Hence, it is essential to offer a design that is high on performance and drives relevant search results.
To enable users to easily search for activities to learn or teach and find practice buddies, we integrated a Search Engine to retrieve the desired search results. Through this functionality, along with geo-coding features, users could now easily perform search tasks for activities, list of practice buddies, classes, instructors etc in specified and nearby locations.
The solution offers other value added features similar to a social networking platform such as creating their profile, managing a network of friends, sending and accepting friend requests to specific members has been built-in. They can also write in posts to find practice buddies over the website, but also to offer their services as instructors. The members can also rate and post reviews, become a fan, e-mail friends and report abuse for a posting. Non members too can access the services and browse through the information available on the heykiki website.
